Gift

Chances are, you’re one of those women who have such a hard time finding the perfect gift for their men—and you are not alone. While it’s easy to shop for women because of all the options you have, it’s a completely different story for men. It also doesn’t help that your man will probably tell you “just give me anything” or “don’t bother getting me anything.”

So if you have a birthday, anniversary or the holidays coming up, you might already be feeling the pressure of searching for a gift that won’t disappoint your man. Don’t worry because we got you covered with these tips:

Don’t overthink it.

Sometimes, you’re already thinking that shopping for your man would be hard, so it becomes hard. But really, you may just be overthinking things. You know your man more than anyone else, especially if you’ve been together for a long time. So start with creating a list of what you know he likes based on his interests, personality and career.

The truth is, men are very straightforward with things and they usually appreciate the basics. Unless your man is adventurous with clothes, accessories and what not, then you won’t have a hard time coming up with a list of what he would probably want.

Invest in the basics.

When was the last time your man really invested in good mens lingerie? When was the last time he shopped for new sleepwear or house clothes? The thing is, men don’t really pay much attention to these details, which is why you’ll see billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg wearing grey or black shirts most of the time because they simply don’t have the energy to think about the basics. So why not do it for him? You may think that it would look cheap for you to buy him a few sleepwear, boxers or lingerie. But really, you’d be surprised at how your man would love that he has new pyjamas to wear and realise that well, he actually needed one. And for sure, he’ll appreciate that you paid attention to the details that he may have missed.

Set a budget.

Here’s the thing: shopping for men is more expensive than women. This is because you don’t really have too many options and most of mens products are premium. So, if you’re celebrating something or you’re preparing for the holidays, it’s best to set a budget and save up for it. This way, you can really treat your man with something special and not worry about breaking your bank after. Having a budget will also make it easier for you to narrow down your choices for gifts based on what you’re willing to spend.

And don’t worry if you’re on a budget because you can still find a lot of good gifts for men online. Just do your research early and compare prices to determine the best deals on the items that you’re eyeing on.

Shop based on your man’s interests.

Your man surely has one or two hobbies or passions that really makes him happy. For some, it’s sports like golf while others love fixing things around the house. These things should give you hints on what to get for your man that he can use and enjoy. For instance, if your man is the all-around DIY project lover who keeps on fixing or creating things, then a toolbox or new equipment would surely make him happy.

On the other hand, if your man loves to go camping, then he’ll surely appreciate getting a new sleeping bag, tent or some camping cookware.

Plan ahead of time.

This applies not only when shopping for men but gift shopping in general. The thing is, when you’re scrambling to fulfil a long gift list, you tend to make bad decisions or settle for the first items you find. If this happens, you’ll end up disappointing your man even if he doesn’t tell you.

So make sure that you get your gift shopping planning early to have more time to look at options, narrow down these options, go around shopping centres or websites and think and rethink before you make that final purchase.

This will not only save you money from buying the wrong items, but it will also help you save your sanity by not being stressed when you’re buying a gift.

Finally, if you think your man already has everything  – or most of the things you want to give him—then why not go for an experience instead? If it’s been a long time since you went on a holiday together, then make it his surprise. Men also love being surprised, so preparing something that he can enjoy like maybe a spa day, a day out with friends or a trip will surely be something that he’ll appreciate.
