As responsible parents, we want what’s best for our kids because we want them to have the best possible start in this life and we want them to go on to be productive and important members of Australian society. This is why it is important that you get your kid enrolled in preschool as soon as possible and this will help them with not only their motor skills but with their social skills as well. Our children spend the first 2 to 3 years of their lives by our sides all the time and so it can be very difficult to loosen the reins.
The good news however is that we can take advantage of preschool learning programs that help to equip our children with the skills that they need so that when their first day in primary school comes along, they will be ready for it. Preschool is a fantastic learning environment where your child learns and spends time with other kids in a safe place. If you’re not sure if preschool is right for your child then the following are just some of the reasons why it makes perfect sense.
- They learn to follow directions – It is important that your kid sees adults as positive role models and so in preschool, your child will learn to follow all of the basic directions that all of us need to know about in this life. They will also learn how to move around the classroom and to follow a schedule throughout the day and this makes the change from preschool to kindergarten much easier.
- They learn how to play – You might think that playing is just something natural that all children do but there are many different types of play that will not be available to your kid when they are spending time at home. They will be having fun but they will also be improving upon their motor skills as they are taught how to hold crayons, paint brushes and pencils.
- They are more physically active – We live in a very digital world and so it can be tempting as a parent to hand your child a tablet or a smartphone just to get them to be quiet for five minutes. This is a habit that you need to get yourself out of because they will become addicted to these and this means that there are physical and mental health will suffer as a direct result. Going to preschool, allows them to run around and just be kids while getting essential exercise.
- A better quality education – There are been many studies carried out on the fact that children who go to preschool end up doing much better in kindergarten and primary school after that. They do better both academically and in a social capacity.
- Your kid learns to share – This is a very difficult thing for young people to learn to do because they always want everything to themselves and this is I suppose, a natural human trait. They will be taught however to share the toys that they play with and the food that they eat with other children of the same page and this provides them with essential life skills that they will need later in kindergarten.
- Your child will become curious – Learning programs are specially set up to encourage your child to try out new things and to ask many questions. It can be infuriating when your kid keeps asking you questions at home about every little thing but at preschool, questions are encouraged and the people who work there have the knowledge and the experience to be able to handle their questions quickly and easily.
- Building a strong foundation for maths – We all want our kids to do well in mathematics, so getting them off to the strongest possible start is essential. Even though your child may only be two or three years old, they will be able to count up to ten in a very short space of time and then there will be more progression from that point. Preschool provides the perfect opportunity for growth and it aids in their educational development.
Get your child enrolled in a preschool learning programme as soon as possible because these spaces tend to fill up fast, so strike while the iron is hot. If you want your child to be more successful academically, if you want their language skills to develop quickly and you want them to be compassionate about learning new skills then preschool is perfect for them. The teachers who work there are highly skilled and they have gone through many years of education and experience to get them where they are today and that’s teaching your kid.
